How do I move my existing site to NameeraSolutions?
Every situation is different, but generally, there are 4 basic steps in moving your site from your current hosting company to NameeraSolutions. 1) Select and order your NameeraSolutions hosting package. 2) Move the contents of your current site to your new space! Setup email accounts, forwarders, autoresponders, etc. This is also a good time to add improvements to your site since the general public doesn't have access and testing is rather a breeze. Please bear in mind that we can move your site or sites for you with our powerful site mover! 3) Test your site in the new space to ensure everything works as you expect! 4) Change the nameserver for your domain at the registrar where your domain is registered. In 24 to 48 hours, your changes should start to take effect, as it takes time to propagate across the Internet.

Can you move my site for me?
Yes we can move your site or sites with our powerful site mover.

Can NameeraSolutions register my domain name for me?
Yes NS can register your domain for $15.00 a year. You can elect this option on the order form.

Which top-level domains do you support?
We support all domains, including foreign domains. This includes .com, .org, .net, .biz, .info, and all country level domains such as: .tv, .cc, .ws, .us, .it, .au, etc...

How soon will my account be activated?
Your account will be setup as soon as we receive it. You will then receive an email containing valuable info. Setup may be delayed if your payment arrangements aren't completed at the time of your order.

What DNS should my domain name point to?
That info will be sent to you after your web account has been created. Please make sure that you have pointed your domain name to the right DNS servers! Please keep in mind that your ISP's DNS server can update slowly. It generally takes 24 hours for domain names to propagate.

Do you offer 100% uptime guarantee?
Because of required maintenance and upgrades, short durations of downtime are necessary with any hosting service; however NameeraSolutions guarantees its servers to be up more than 99.99% of the time. NameeraSolutions servers are monitored both internally and externally, 24 hours a day. We are alerted immediately to any server or bandwidth issues that prevent your site from being available on the Internet.

Do you give discounts on more than one domain?
Yes we give our clients more substantial discounts as their number of domains grow.

How can I cancel my account?
We would hate to see you go; but if you're sure you want to cancel your NameeraSolutions account, simply send a request to us through our secure contact page, specifying the domain to be canceled and your current password (for security verification, this prevents others from cancelling your account). You must cancel at least three days before your renewal date so that you will not be charged for the next period.

Can I host adult related sites?
Yes, as long as you totally obide by the local laws and as long as your site shows a DISCLAIMER at its entrance, and contains no child pornography or bestiality. Please refer to our term's page for what defines an "adult" site!

Do you allow MP3 files and streaming of videos?
Yes we do providing you have copy rights to them. Please bear in mind that those files tend to be big and can consume a lot of bandwidth and resources!

What is CGI?
Common Gateway Interface is the process by which a webserver gets data from (or sends to) a database, document or other program, and presents that information to viewers on the internet. CGI can be written in any programming language but Perl and PHP are the most common. Of the 2 PHP is the easiest to use with MySQL for handling relational databases.

What is a CGI script?
(CGI scripts LINKS) are like small programs written in a desired coding language. The scripts are sent to an interpreter located on the host server where thay are processed for execution by the browser. All scripts must follow CGI protocol. What do you need to write CGI scripts? (CGI scripts can be written with any text based editor, like notepad or word pad for Windows. There are, however: many editors built which are cross platform and can be used for CGI Scripting.
A CGI script is like a program written in a desired coding language. It is a collection of lines of code that contain instructions for a computer. CGI scripts are just simple text files that are interpreted as needed. CGI scripts are smaller and simpler than programs; however they are compiled so that they will run faster on a particular OS.
They are sent to an interpreter located on the host server where they are processed for execution by the browser. All CGI scripts must follow CGI protocol. CGI scripts can be written in Perl, PHP, C, Visual Basic, Python or whatever. Perl and PHP seem to be the languages of choice. That's because they are easy to learn and are very portable.
Not all Perl scripts are CGI scripts. Only Perl Scripts that follow CGI protocol are CGI scripts.
Sample Perl/CGI Script:
The CGI script written in Perl has a very simple structure. The CGI script shown below would print the words Hello World to the PC screen. The shebang line tells the browser where to find the Perl interpreter on the server. The content header tells the browser what kind of content to expect.
#!perl #shebang line
print "Content-type:text/html\n\n"; #Content Header

print <<End_of_Doc;
<html>
<head><title></title></head>
<body>
Hello World
</body>
</html>
End_of_Doc

What do you need to write CGI scripts?
CGI scripts can be written with any text based editor, like notepad or word pad for Windows. There are, however many editors built which are cross platform and can be used for CGI Scripting.

What can CGI do?
Search a site, registration, on-line purchasing, credit card validation, chart presentations, counters. Although other applications have been developed in the last few years, Perl/CGI and PHP remain the easiest to learn and therefore the most popular. Why use Perl? Perl was created in 1986 by Larry Wall to create reports for a tech company where he was working. Because it was presented as open source, others have added to its capabilities and produced a powerful, full featured programming language that can be used for many purposes. Perl is particulary suited to Web related tasks. It is a powerful text manipulation tool. It is easily ported from one platform to another. Scripts written for Unix can be easily adapted to Windows or Apple platforms. Until recently our choice for simple form processing was Perl. Today we recommend PHP for simple forms that don't require file i/o operations. PHP coding is similar to Perl, but a lot less verbose. In fact, a lot of code you may have already written in Perl can be easily modified to PHP. The beauty of PHP is that it can be embedded right into your HTML code. PHP is also a very portable choice.

Can I install CGI scripts?
NameeraSolutions allows you to run cgi scripts on the servers, as long as they conform to our acceptable server resource usage policy. Any script that uses exceptionally high server resources (such as constant and excessive sendmail use) will have to be removed. Most CGI scripts will be fine. The standard practice, and good habit, is to put CGI scripts into the cgi-bin directory to be run, however, our servers are configured to run any file with a .pl or .cgi extention as a script, even in the public_html directory. Be sure that the folder and file permissions on any CGI scripts are set so that the "world" can execute them.

Can you install complicated CGI scripts for me?
Yes we can install scripts for you and the fee will depend on the degree of their complexity. Please refer to our design page! We also permit the installation of any custom script.

What is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a method by which you can transfer files between computers, usually using the Internet. There is a huge amount of information stored on FTP servers around the world that can only be accessed by using FTP. When using FTP you use an application called a "client" to connect to a machine called a "server". There are a large number of FTP software packages available. Some of them are built in to your browser (such as Internet Explorer), others are dedicated applications (such as such as CuteFTP or WS_FTP while still others are built into web applications (File Manager in CPanel is one example). Generally speaking, if you are going to spend a lot of time using FTP or have a large amount of files to upload/download, a dedicated FTP client is the way to go. CPanel allows you to set up FTP accounts so that certain external users can access a restricted part of your system. You can also set up an anonymous FTP account so that anyone can access a restricted part of your system. You can also manage these FTP sessions, cutting them off if they go on for too long. Warning: FTP, by its very nature, allows external users to modify your web site. External users can upload, download, and delete files. Keep this in mind when you set up an FTP account!

What is SSI?
SSI stand for: Server Side Includes. When using a UNIX system it is sometimes necessary to enable certain HTML files executable for the purpose of using SSI. Server Side Includes are often used to run a cgi script. An include is called. After you insert your include, you must either use a proper ".htaccess" or mark the HTML file as executable so the server will parse the file. The second way is done using one of two options. 1.) Renaming the file to ".shtml": On our server any file name ".shtml" will be parsed. So instead of having an index.html file, you would name it index.shtml. This is the easiest way of enabling includes. 2.) CHMODing the file to 777: With CHMOD 777 you can also mark a file as executable. It is important to only make the files which you want parsed executable. This poses certain security issues, as well as a strain on our resources, as the processor has to work harder to parse a file.

What is SSL?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer protocol) is a standard for transmitting confidential data such as credit card numbers over the Internet. Most true business sites support this feature which allows more security in data transmitted over the WWW. This is the standard minimum security level for true business on the Internet. SSL works by using a private key to encrypt data that is transferred over the SSL connection. To read more about what is SSL and how it works, go to modssl.org!
